Open Water & Pool Coaching Videos

Brand New ONLINE Course Introductory Price £25

At Solent Swim School, safety is an important part of our briefs and courses. Water is dangerous and when you're not quite sure of what you are doing it can be fatal too. We are not trying to make open water sound like an awfully dangerous thing, but it is classed by our insurance company as an extreme sport. So it is is important to have the knowledge you need to know, to keep yourself and others around you safe.

Before every Community Swim, we give a safety brief. We assess on arrival the conditions of the sea, the weather and any forecasts. We also promote the safety of wearing a tow float and a bright hat. We are there as spotters on the beach or in the water. But a qualified coach may not be with you at other times. This is why you need the background knowledge to know if it is safe to swim or not.

Our brand new online course is ideal for this. It doesn't matter where you live or which environment you are swimming in, there are hazards everywhere. We will show you how to assess and mitigate the risks.

Topics covered are:
Weather, wind, waves, tides, currents, the effects of cold water swimming, the kit you might need as well as the benefits to health and well being!

We will show you the risks and how to mitigate them.

Places are £25 each and we will email details to you prior to the event of how to log on to the meeting. You will need to download Zoom.

The course is from 7pm to 9pm and is available on the 28th September 2023  OR the 17th October 2023
